I received several calls this week about mold.
After speaking with these individuals for a time in order to consider their specific needs, it became evident that they lacked the principal component for mold growth; water.
While I recognize the concerns over mold in the home, it is important to consider the very basic needs of mold to propagate under any conditions. Mold must have a source of moisture to grow.
Ask yourself this simple question: Is there water leaking into the home? If the answer is yes, then you might consider its origin. Is the water from outside the home; i.e. roof, foundation or wall? Or is the water from a plumbing leak or inadequate ventilation such as in a bath?
The answer to these questions will determine how to remedy the problem. Eliminate the water to correct the environment conducive to mold growth!
